Pre-development testing was undertaken on a development of four dwellings, as the site at Coolruane, Lixnaw, was partly located within the marked zone of archaeological potential for a rath, KE015–058. Seven trenches were excavated across the site; they were from 40–80m long, 1.8m wide and from 0.3–1m deep. No archaeological features were recorded.
