Centreline and offset test-trenching on the N21 Castleisland bypass road improvement scheme examined an 11% sample of a 5.4km road. The testing located a burnt-stone mound, a slag-filled pit, a complex of undated ditches and post-holes and a number of charcoal-production pits. In addition, a large area of potential archaeology in the form of undated ditches was found.
