Seventeen test-trenches were excavated on a site at Cahereen West, Castleisland, which is in the environs of an enclosure. Topsoil was removed to a depth of 0.4–0.5m in the trenches. This overlay a red/brown stony subsoil. No archaeological finds or levels were noted.
