Pre-development testing was undertaken in April 2006 at the site of a proposed development of six houses and associated services at Kilbeacanty, Gort, Co. Galway. An assessment of the site had previously been undertaken and recommended archaeological testing, as the site is located in close proximity to a cashel and souterrain, GA123–052. Four trenches were mechanically excavated in the course of testing. No features of archaeological significance were encountered.
