Trial-trenching was carried out at the site of a proposed redevelopment at 24 Eyre Square on 13 April 2006. The development involves the demolition of a three-storey over basement 19th-century building and the trenching was concerned with a small yard to the rear of the building, accessed via Ballalley Lane. Two trial-trenches were excavated at the site and nothing of archaeological interest was discovered.
