Monitoring of topsoil-stripping was undertaken at a development site for a proposed caravan park at Rushin, Belcoo, Co. Fermanagh, in April 2006. The site was located on the south-facing slope of a limestone hill, on the northern shore of Upper Lough Macnean. The site lay 100m to the north of a crannog (FER228–077), and 300m to the south-west of the medieval remains of Temple Rushin (FER228–019). The area under investigation was irregular in plan and measured c. 79m north–south by 183m. The site stratigraphy was characterised by topsoil up to 0.3m deep overlying subsoil. No archaeological remains were found.
