Monitoring of ground-reduction works was carried out at the site of proposed development at 13 Castlebalfour Road, Lisnaskea, Co. Fermanagh, on 6 October 2006. All mechanical ground breaking was conducted by means of a mechanical excavator furnished with a toothless, flat-bottomed ditching (or sheugh) bucket. Overlying deposits measured on average a depth of 0.4m and their removal revealed natural subsoil. No archaeological remains were identified during the course of this monitoring exercise.
