An assessment was undertaken at a site located in an industrial estate in the townland of Ballyfermot Lower. The development included the construction of an office and warehousing. In September 2006 a single test-trench was opened running diagonally (west-south-west/east-north-east) across the site. The topsoil was a loose yellowish-brown silty clay with orange mottle and occasional small stones. It was only 0.3m on average throughout the trench and was contaminated from above with modern inclusions. The subsoil was a compact green/brown silty clay with frequent stones. No archaeological features or materials were identified during testing.
