Testing was undertaken at 17–21 Lower Mount Street, in advance of a proposed combined office and residential development. Test-trenching commenced on 7 November 2006 and lasted for two days. Seven trenches were mechanically excavated across the accessible section of the site. The façade and front rooms of the buildings were still standing at the time of testing and therefore were not investigated. Nothing of archaeological significance was noted during the testing.
