Testing was undertaken on a site at Balrothery in January, as part of an assessment.
The site for the single dwelling lies within the zone of archaeological potential in Balrothery village. It is situated c. 27m from Balrothery church and c. 4m from the graveyard. Five test-trenches were excavated on the site. The testing disclosed no material of an archaeological nature. The assessment recommended monitoring during the construction phase. Monitoring was conducted during the groundworks under a licence extension, but it disclosed no material of an archaeological nature.
