Testing was carried out on a proposed development site situated to the north-east of Church Road in Kilmood, Co. Down. Immediately to the west of the proposed site lay the 19th-century St Mary’s Church and graveyard, which is sited on a possible medieval ecclesiastical site (DOW016–040). Six trenches were excavated across the length of the site. The archaeology of the site was characterised by modern overburden, up to 2.1m deep, overlying bedrock and subsoil. Modern fill, services and sewage pipes relating to ground levelling, disturbance and demolished dwellings were revealed. No archaeological artefacts or deposits were found.
