Evaluation took place of the site of a private development at Aughnagun Road, Milltown, Mayobridge. The development is located in a field on the opposite side of the modern road to a scheduled court tomb, and the western boundary of the site passes within 15m of the monument. Three test-trenches were excavated on the site: Trench 1 measured 50m by 2m and was located on the proposed laneway accessing the site; Trench 2 measured 25m by 2m and was located on the footprint of the house site; Trench 3 measured 50m by 2m and was located along the proposed course of the septic tank serving the development. No features or deposits of archaeological significance were observed during this exercise.
