Two test-trenches were excavated to evaluate the potential impact of the proposed development of a domestic garage. The development site was c. 75m east of the site of a 12th-century castle (DOW033–034). The castle was said to be in an advanced ruinous state by the mid-17th century and there are now no visible aboveground remains. Although evidence of modern disturbance was found in the evaluation trenches, there were no finds or features of archaeological significance.
