Test-trenching was carried out in relation to a proposed housing development at Meadowlands housing estate, Demesne of Down townland, Downpatrick, Co. Down. The results of the test-trenching indicate that the site is located within an area of relatively modern reclaimed land, with infill layers ranging from 1 to 2m in depth. No archaeological deposits were identified during the course of this work.
