An evaluation was carried out at the proposed site of a house located at Crobane, Co. Down, in a field adjacent to a megalithic tomb known as the ‘giant’s grave’ (DOW047–058). Four trenches, located in the western part of the field, were excavated using a mechanical digger equipped with a toothless ‘sheugh’ bucket. Each trench measured 2m by 25m. No archaeological features or artefacts were uncovered.
