Five trenches were excavated across the confines of a proposed building development on the Coleraine Road, Flowerfield, Portstewart. The archaeology of the site was characterised by modern overburden, up to 0.4m deep, overlying undisturbed subsoil on a gently sloping hill. Modern service pipes and foundations from recently demolished dwellings were revealed, but no archaeological deposits were found.
