The site was located between Buncrana Road to the east and Whitehouse Road to the south. This initial phase of the development involved the construction of 4km of service roads. Monitoring at Buncrana Road prior to the construction of the service roads took place during December 2005 and January 2006, with the excavation completed in February 2006. The removal of the topsoil revealed the presence of four burnt spreads, four pits and two post-medieval boundary ditches. The four burnt spreads all appeared to have been burnt in situ, as they are all located above oxidised subsoil. There were no datable finds present in any of these features.
