A test excavation was carried out close to a ringfort in Subulter townland near Kanturk. The excavation was requested prior to planning approval to construct a dwelling house around a man-made pond just 30m to the west of the ringfort (CO024–065). Four test-trenches were placed in those areas of the development where maximum ground disturbance was envisaged and none of these provided evidence for archaeological features or finds.
