Monitoring of the construction of a single house was carried out in the zone of archaeological potential surrounding a ‘possible burial-ground’ (CO082–090). There is no visible trace of this burial-ground, but its presence in this area is indicated by the placename, Crossnalanniv, on the first- and second-edition OS maps. According to local tradition, there is a children’s burial-ground in a field located c. 50m to the north-east. The development site was covered by a layer of rubble fill associated with a recently demolished 20th-century farmhouse and yard and the new dwelling house will be constructed directly on the footprint of the demolished farmhouse. The construction of the earlier house and yard had resulted in the reduction of the ground levels within the site down into the natural subsoil and there were no traces of any burials, or any other archaeological features or finds, uncovered during monitoring.
