There are no known monuments within the development site at Mawbeg East, Enniskeane, but this area is named as ‘camp cliff’ on the OS maps of this area. This is thought to refer to a military camp site, but there are no documentary sources to support it. Monitoring of the ground-reduction works was carried out. The ground was reduced to a depth of 0.4m below modern ground level. There was no surface evidence for an encampment or any related activity in the area. No archaeological finds or levels were noted.
