Test-trenching was undertaken in the footprint of a proposed development adjacent to a medieval church, where most ground disturbance is scheduled to occur. Testing indicated that the site was sterile of archaeological remains. Test-trenching established that the subsurface layers have been introduced and this has modified the site over time.
