At Gortore 1b, a series of fifteen pits, a possible structure, two linear features, a post-hole and a possible pit were found during pre-construction testing in advance of the N8 Fermoy–Mitchelstown road scheme. The excavation, which commenced on 18 September 2006, is expected to conclude in early 2007. On conclusion, a more detailed summary account will be provided in Excavations 2007.
