A proposal to construct a traditional-style residence and to restore a complex of stone outhouses within the constraint zone of a ringfort at Glanbrack, Reenascreena, led to a request for an impact assessment. The assessment included a test excavation. The single-banked ringfort is situated over 65m to the south of the development site. Four test-trenches were investigated, three within the footprint of the proposed new dwelling house and another closer to the ringfort in an area selected for percolation. The topsoil consisted of rich brown organic sediment and it overlay firm mixed orange/grey stone-free boulder clay. No features or finds of archaeological merit were encountered.
