Seven test-trenches were excavated on a site at Derryvreen, Clonakilty, which is in the environs of a fulacht fiadh. Topsoil was removed to a depth of 0.3–0.4m in the trenches. This overlay orange/brown natural subsoil. No archaeological finds or levels were noted in the trenches.
