Nine test-trenches were excavated at the site of a proposed housing development. The stratigraphy on the site consisted of mid-brown topsoil, 0.2–0.45m deep, over yellow/brown subsoil. Some patches of buried sod and the pit of a burnt-out tree stump were recorded. No archaeological finds or features were noted during testing. The northern part of the site is within the zone of potential of a levelled ringfort (CO024–123). A 20m buffer zone has been created to the south of the monument site.
