Eight test-trenches were excavated at the site of a proposed housing development to the east of Mallow which was adjacent to a fulacht fiadh and a ringfort. Stratigraphy in the trenches consisted of a mid-brown stony soil, 0.2–0.35m deep, over orange/
brown stony subsoil. Some field drains and possible ridge and furrow marks were noted. No archaeological finds or features were noted during testing.
