Testing was carried out at Carrigroe, Clonakilty, in response to a request for further information. It is proposed to construct a single dwelling house together with an access driveway, parking area and ancillary site works. The proposed development is partially within the zone of archaeological potential for a monument cluster (CO135–071). Two test-trenches were excavated to test the site of the proposed house, a third test-trench was positioned in the area of the driveway and a fourth was positioned in the area of the wastewater treatment system and percolation area. No archaeological features or deposits were identified.
