A second phase of monitoring was carried out in 2006 during the construction of a new dwelling house and an extension to an existing farmhouse in the north end of the zone of archaeological potential surrounding the ‘site of a castle’. There were no surface traces of any structures associated with the castle and it is not indicated on the first-edition OS map. There were no archaeological artefacts or features uncovered during monitoring in 2006.
