At Ballynacarriga 2, a souterrain, enclosure, pits, structures and quarrying activity were found during pre-construction testing in advance of the N8 Fermoy–Mitchelstown road scheme. The excavation, which commenced on 9 October, is expected to conclude in early 2007. On conclusion, a more detailed summary account will be submitted to Excavations 2007.
