Nine test-trenches were excavated at a proposed greenfield development site located to the south of Mallow. A stone-rich linear deposit and a small pit were uncovered in the east end of the site; these were found to contain 20th-century artefacts, including a 1941? penny coin. The linear stony deposit appeared to be the remains of a garden boundary feature shown on the second-edition OS map. There were no archaeological features or finds uncovered at this development site.
