Pre-development testing was carried out on the site of a proposed housing development at Kilnacally, Co. Clare, on 3–4 April 2006. The site is located in the vicinity of Kilnacally House, a possible 17th-century house. Testing comprised the excavation of nine trenches on the development footprint. The topsoil varied from 0.2m to 0.6m in thickness and generally overlay red/brown and yellow/brown silty sand subsoil. No archaeological material was uncovered.
