Testing was carried out in advance of the construction of an extension to a single-storey cottage at the east end of Abbey Street. The site is located within the southern zone of potential for CL045–033, the historic town of Killaloe. Two trenches were excavated in the garden. A 0.5m-deep layer of topsoil with rubble and modern pottery inclusions overlay a natural yellowish-brown subsoil. A north–south-running stone drain was noted cut into the subsoil. Nothing of an archaeological nature was noted during the test-trenching.
