Testing was carried out at the site of a proposed residential development in the townland of Ballaghafadda West, Clarecastle, Co. Clare, in November 2006. Two test-trenches were mechanically excavated. The trenches indicated that the site was of low archaeological potential, as limestone bedrock was identified directly under a thin cover of topsoil. No archaeological finds or features were identified during the testing.
