Testing was undertaken on a site at Eighter, Virginia, in January, as part of an assessment. The site is situated beside CV043–011, listed as an enclosure. Four trenches were excavated on the site, where it is proposed to build a single dwelling. In Trench 3 a linear anomaly was observed. It measured 2.5m wide by 0.5m deep in section, and 6.7m of the feature was exposed. The fill was dark/brown silt with a lens of darker material at the bottom. There were no artefacts or finds associated with the feature. The ditch continued beyond the limit of excavation. A buffer zone around the monument and the discovered archaeology was recommended.
