The site was excavated as part of the N9/N10 Kilcullen to Waterford scheme: Kilcullen to Powerstown. Two circular pits were excavated in this area, where prehistoric pottery and worked flint had previously been found during the testing phase of the road scheme. Both of these pits were half-sectioned during this phase of testing and, on further investigation, no other features of archaeological interest were revealed.
