The site was excavated as part of the N9/N10 Kilcullen to Waterford scheme: Kilcullen to Powerstown. This site was located in a large, flat tillage field. This activity consisted of field boundary clearance and large-scale drainage works. Testing carried out under Ministerial Direction number A021/030 on this site in 2005 identified a possible cremation cemetery. Full resolution was conducted on site between 28 March and 28 April 2006. This revealed two cremation pits, human remains, pits and assorted ditches.
The inhumation was extended, supine and was orientated north–south. It was about 50% complete, in a poor state of preservation, and is possibly a young female, aged 18–25 years. The burial was cut into a north-south-oriented ditch. Two cremations were located c. 32m east of the inhumation.
