The site was excavated as part of the N9/N10 Kilcullen to Waterford scheme: Kilcullen to Powerstown. A number of pits and post-holes of indeterminate date were excavated, including a circular pit measuring 0.3m in diameter, 0.3m in depth and containing possible human burnt bone. A large figure-of-eight kiln, measuring 2.3m long (north–south), 1.4m wide and containing in situ burning and charcoal, was excavated in the eastern portion of the site. Further analysis of the human remains and radiocarbon dating is ongoing. No finds were recovered from the site.
