This site was excavated as part of the recently completed BGE (Northern Ireland) gas pipeline. It consisted of a group of five pits and a number of smaller features. The largest of the features was an oval pit that measured 1.7m by 1.25m by 0.2m deep and was filled with charcoal-rich mid-brown clayey silt with occasional small rounded stones containing sherds of prehistoric pottery and flints. Approximately 1m south-east of this pit was a roughly circular post-hole, which measured 0.24m in diameter by 0.09m deep and was filled by a reddish-brown silty clay. A third feature proved to be a roughly circular pit, 0.38m in diameter by 0.13m deep and filled with dark-greyish-brown silty clay. The next feature to be investigated was an oval pit that measured 0.98m by 0.8m by 0.32m deep and was filled with mid-reddish-brown silty clay. The remaining features were two badly truncated pits. The larger, oval pit measured 0.78m by 0.66m by 0.19m deep and was filled with dark-brownish-grey silty clay. The smaller pit was also oval, measured 0.72m by 0.62m by 0.13m deep and was filled with grey silty clay.
