Test-trenching at the site of a proposed carpark at St Patrick’s Church was carried out in relation to a proposed development at Chapel Hill, Lisburn, Co. Antrim. Testing was carried out in response to planning conditions at the site relating to the archaeological potential of the area based upon its close proximity to ANT068–001. Eight trenches were excavated within the proposed development area, revealing the remains of demolition rubble and the foundations of the parochial hall which stood on the site until recently. No earlier building activity or archaeological remains were uncovered during the course of test-trenching.
