Monitoring was required in advance of a large-scale housing development. Four areas (A–D) of archaeological interest were uncovered. Areas A and B were situated along the bank of a former stream, now formalised as a field sheugh. Area A consisted of three subcircular pits/troughs containing burnt stone. Area B contained a rectangular stone-lined feature measuring 4.96m by 1.58m by 0.48m deep. It was divided into two compartments of unequal width. Further monitoring to the north revealed a token cremation, a number of pits of varying sizes and the probable remains of a rectangular structure (Area C), and two large shallow pits of probable post-medieval/modern date (Area D). Finds recovered from Area C included sherds of prehistoric pottery. Post-excavation analysis is ongoing.
