Monitoring of the excavation of the foundation trenches was undertaken for a new development at 113 Glenarm Road, Larne, Co. Antrim. Four trenches were investigated. Three trenches were mechanically excavated to a depth equal to, or lower than, the formation level for the development, with a fourth excavated to the natural bedrock. Neither subsoil nor the natural bedrock was uncovered in the other three trenches, as they were found lying over an infilled river channel. There were no archaeological deposits uncovered within the trenches.
