An archaeological evaluation was required in advance of the construction of a private dwelling. The proposed development site is located c. 100m south of a possible barrow site (ANT013–067). The possible barrow and the proposed development site are separated by the Well Water River. The possible barrow was identified as an apparently upstanding circular feature, c. 6m in diameter, by aerial photography, but a site visit found no visible remains.
Three test-trenches were excavated within the proposed development site boundary. Two of the trenches measured c. 20m by 2m and the third measured c. 25m by 2m. No finds, features or deposits of archaeological significance were uncovered in any of the trenches.
