Monitoring was undertaken as part of the planning requirements for the Dunmore water treatment works, at Corbally, Co. Antrim. The refurbishment work consisted of a new main processing building, necessitating the removal of several water storage tanks, along with a new water pipe. Two enclosures (ANT055–008 and 009) were located within the confines of the treatment works, but both were destroyed during the original construction of the works. As much of the entire area of the treatment works was substantially disturbed during the original construction, monitoring was restricted to a section of the new pipe that appeared to have been untouched. Monitoring was therefore undertaken along a trench measuring 100m east–west by 5m wide. The topsoil was mechanically removed to reveal the underlying subsoil, consisting of orange sticky clay. No archaeological deposits were uncovered within the area subject to monitoring.
