Monitoring of topsoil removal was undertaken on the site of a proposed new housing development at 133–135 Ballycreagh Road, Clough, Co. Antrim, in December 2006. The site measured 50m north-east/south-west by 40m wide and, although the entire area was to have been subject to monitoring, development works were well under way before the archaeologist was informed. This meant that only a small area of the site, c. 30m north-east/south-west by 10m, could be monitored. The topsoil was mechanically removed to the underlying orange sandy clay subsoil. No archaeological deposits were uncovered within the area monitored.
