Monitoring took place of foundation trench excavation in advance of the construction of additional retail units at Braidwater Retail Park. Braidwater Retail Park was built partly on top of the site of Braidwater Spinning Mill (IHR 6778) and close to the site of a beetling mill (IHR 6761). The spinning mill was completed in 1866 and demolished in 1985. A wall, floor surface and culvert associated with the mill were uncovered, along with a number of 20th-century walls.
