An archaeological evaluation was carried out at a site immediately to the south of 15 West Street, Ballycarry, Co. Antrim. The evaluation was requested as the proposed development was close to the site of Brackenberghe, a medieval church and graveyard (ANT 047:009). The Northern Ireland Sites and Monuments Record notes that human remains were found in the area of the medieval church.
The fieldwork consisted of two test-trenches within the development area. Each trench was 2m wide and 15m long. No remains of archaeological significance were exposed in the excavated trenches.
