Pre-development testing of a single-house site was undertaken at Templenacroha, Pallas East, Clonroche, Enniscorthy. The proposed development site is 25m east of the field boundary for the Templenacroha church site. In 2004 an assessment of the Templenacroha church site, including geophysical survey, was undertaken by Emmet Stafford (2004–5).

Five test-trenches, 1.5m in width, were excavated in November 2005. The trenches were excavated on the footprint of the proposed percolation and the house foundations. Three ditches, a furrow, a drain and some modern disturbance comprised the features recorded in the trenches. It is proposed to strip the topsoil from the area of the house platform to ascertain the nature and extent of the ditch feature prior to commencement of construction.
