The excavations at Site 10, Moneycross Upper, were carried out in advance of the N11 Gorey–Arklow link road scheme. The site consisted of a dried-up riverbed, on the bank of which was a spread of burnt-stone material. The riverbed’s drying out seemed to have been a relatively recent occurrence, as a large machine-cut drainage ditch, which lay just outside the CPO area, had rerouted the river. The spread of burnt material was not large or thick and seemed to be very disturbed in places, possibly by the same activity which led to the river being rerouted. The only notable find recovered from the site was a small stone axe, but this was not from a secure context.
