The excavation of the remains of nine archaeological sites that had been previously identified during centre-line testing along the proposed route of the N11 Gorey–Arklow link in the townlands of Coolnastudd (six sites) and Coolnaveagh (three sites), Co. Wexford, took place during the period 14 May to 5 September 2005. At the site of Coolnastudd 16 the remains of the burnt-mound material of a fulacht fiadh along with two pits were excavated. In addition to this, three pits, exterior to remains of the fulacht fiadh material, were also uncovered. Finally, the remains of a trough feature, situated to the south-west of the fulacht fiadh, were also excavated.
