Testing at this site was undertaken in response to planning conditions. Testing revealed the presence of three circular slot-trenches with diameters ranging from 5 to 13m. In addition, numerous other pits, post-holes, stake-holes and gullies were uncovered. Due to the large amount of features uncovered, it was decided to undertake a geophysical survey to see whether any further archaeological deposits were located within the development site (licence 06R018). No definite features, other than those already identified in the testing, were identified in the geophysical survey.
